Considerations When Booking A Private Tour Company

Traveling to a foreign country can be an incredible adventure. When traveling, it is always a good idea to take a tour of a foreign city or location so that you can find unique and interesting places that you would never be able to find yourself. The best way to do this is to book a private guided tour where you can take your time and customize your itinerary. When booking a tour of a foreign city or location, look for the following features in a private tour booking company:

Customizable Tour:  Do your research on the city and surrounding areas that you will visit before you book a private tour. Know what sites and areas you would like to see while on a private tour and ask a potential private tour company if those locations can be included in your itinerary. Look at a map to see if the locations that you wish to visit are within an easy driving distance from each other so that your itinerary can be completed on a single tour.

Flexible Tour Schedule:  Ask your potential private tour company if their tours are flexible and without a set ending time. This will allow you to request your tour guide to include a tour of an unscheduled site that you may find while you are on your tour. A flexible tour schedule can also give you the freedom to shop at a local store or walk around a scenic location for a brief time.

Knowledgeable Tour Guides:  Look for a private tour company that offers tour guides that have knowledge of the city or location you will be visiting. A knowledgeable tour guide can respond to your interests and make suggestions of additional sites while you are on your tour. He or she can also give you historical and cultural information about sites that may not be common knowledge or published in travel guides.

Photographic Locations:  Look for a private tour company that will allow you to request that your tour guide makes an unscheduled stop while you are on tour so that you can take photographs and/or videos. Depending on the time of day and the weather while you are on tour, you may find places that you would like to document when you see them.

Tour Activities:  Many private city tours will include an activity while you are on a tour. This can include a meal at a local restaurant, a tour of a museum or gallery, a wine tasting at a local winery, or even a short hike or walk on the beach. Ask your potential private tour company what activities can be included on your tour while you are there.

Licensing and Certification:  Before you book a private tour company, ask them if they have a professional license and/or touring certificate issued by their city or country. Companies with these credentials can be researched online or in travel guides for customer reviews and recommendations before you book their services.

Ask your travel agent or look online for recommended private tour booking companies that offer some of the above features and amenities. With a bit of research and planning, you can have a memorable visit to a city or location while traveling in foreign countries.
